Determining the best office chairs implies knowing what you need - not what you want

Everyone loves bargains! It's no different when you search for the best office chairs online. Your probably thinking cheap office chair and yet at the same time you also want the best chair available. That's natural and expected. But you probably also believe getting the best also means paying the most. It's true that you pay more for better quality but not as much as you might think. First you need to understand what your needs are. Notice I said what you "need" not what you "want". Once that difference is clarified in your mind your decision making becomes infinitely easier.

Your needs will drive you purchasing decision and will allow you to refine your thinking and allow you to focus on what is really important in determining the office chair best for you. For example there are many different types of office chairs available each geared toward a specific purpose in mind.

These include:

And the list goes on and on. Within each of the different types of chairs there are choices in fabrics, colors, styles and  features, all of which ultimately have an impact on the price you pay.

A comfortable ergonomic office chair should be your primary concern

An ergonomic office chair is designed specifically with comfort in mind and comfort should be the most important attribute of any chair. Today even cheap office chairs are built with ergonomics in mind.

Next, look for only the features you need. Do you really need adjustable arm rests if your buying a cheap computer chair? Your hands will be positioned over the keyboard most of the time which means you'll do just fine without them. How about a designer chair. Designer chairs like the Aeron chair are expensive since your paying for the name. They look nice and most of them are very good but do you really need it when a basic ergonomic chair can do the job just as well.

Finally, determine if a particular chair can double for other purposes or if a cheaper chair will do the job. For example, there are some very good task chairs that can be used as both a desk chair and as a computer chair. Also, if you need extra occasional office seating why not consider a folding chair. A padded fabric folding chair can be very comfortable and versatile to have around for those occasional times when extra seating is needed. Besides they don't take up much space and store away very easily!

Take your time to browse around and discover and remember to always ask yourself the question "what do I really need " instead of "what do I want"?
