An ergonomic task chair provides a functional alternative to traditional office chairs. They are usually specialized for a particular task. An example would be a drafting chair used mainly by architects and engineers. 1 .  Kneeling chair

A kneeling chair puts the user into a partial kneeling position and as such has no seat back. The idea behind this type of chair is to distribute the weight between the pelvis and knees to reduce stress on the spine. It also forces good posture by moving the hips forward and aligning the upper torso with the hips.

The net result and benefit of this seating position is that it reduces tension on the lower back and legs and provides a neutral sitting position that provides a relaxing and comfortable sitting experience.

2.  Saddle chair

Saddle chairs are a hybrid between a desk chair and a computer chair. It gets its name due to its shape being similar to that of a horse saddle. The user assumes a posture somewhere between standing and sitting. With this type of chair the legs assume a stance as though you are riding a horse.

The benefit of this type of chair is to eliminate circulatory problems commonly experienced when sitting in office chairs and to ease problems associated with the lower back.

3.   Recliner

Recliners are exactly that - they recline the person using it from a sitting position to a reclined position. For some this is the most desirable way to work and the main benefit is that it significantly reduces stress and strain from the back.
